Lockouts · roadside
Keys locked in the car? The tools come to the parking lot.
Keys locked in the car, keys lost, a door or ignition lock that has given up. Mobile roadside help with the right tools, not a coat hanger.
What fails: the keys in the cup holder, the fob that will not answer, the ignition that will not turn
Most car calls start the same way. The keys are on the seat and the door has just closed, or the fob has gone dead, or the only key is somewhere between the grocery store and home. Others are mechanical: a door lock that has stopped responding, an ignition that will not turn.
These happen in a Gilbert shopping-centre lot, at a school drop-off, in a driveway in Queen Creek. The car is not going anywhere, and neither are you, which is why a locksmith who drives to the vehicle is more use than a tow to a shop.
If a child or an animal is inside the car, call 911 first, then call us.

Roadside help with the right tools, not a coat hanger
Locksmith Of Gilbert is a mobile roadside service for automotive lockouts. Call or text (480) 980-9308 with where you are and what you are driving, and the van heads to you.
The company's own line on lockouts is that you do not need coat hangers or shoelaces, and they are right. Opening a car door properly means a wedge, a reach tool and patience, and no damage to the weatherstripping or the paint.
The same van handles fleets. JLM Air Conditioning and Heating has used Locksmith Of Gilbert more than once for its trucks and says they can reprogram key fobs and cut new keys right on site, honest and fairly priced.
New keys, or your originals back
A lockout is not always the end of the problem. If the original key is lost, there are two routes: find and retrieve the original, or cut and program a new one. We will tell you which makes sense for your car before any work begins, with the price quoted upfront.
Cutting and programming a new key, fob or transponder is covered on the car key replacement page, where it usually runs about half the dealership price. A door or ignition lock that has worn out is replaced or repaired here, at the car.
Afterwards, a spare is cheap insurance. Have the second key cut while the van is there and you will not be calling a locksmith in a parking lot a second time.
Helped with both of my vehicles making the process super easy! Blake Deinas.
The tool roll
What we bring, and what not to try first.
What we bring
- Air wedge
- A small inflatable bladder that opens a gap at the door frame, slowly, without bending the door.
- Long-reach tool
- A slim rod fed through that gap to work the interior handle or button from the inside.
- Key cutter
- The machine in the van, so a new key can be cut at the car instead of in a shop across town.
What not to try
- Coat hanger
- It scrapes the weatherstrip and the paint, and it rarely reaches the right place.
- Shoelace
- A good story about older door posts. On a modern car it does nothing but cost time.
- Forcing the lock
- A bent door or a broken lock turns a lockout into a repair bill.
