Homes: lockouts, rekeys and new locks
Call or text your address and we head out. Before opening anything we verify that you are authorised to enter the property, which protects you as much as it protects anyone else.
Rekeying one lock or every lock, new locks with custom keys, one key for every door or a different key for each, new keys made from the hardware already on your door, extra copies, and home security solutions. If a hardware store does not stock your kind of key, our shop service carries a broad selection of unique house keys.
Rekeying resets the pins inside the lock so a new key works and every old key stops working, while the lock itself stays on the door. Replacing means new hardware, which makes sense when the lock is damaged or worn rather than just known to too many people.
Yes. You do not know how many copies of the old keys are out there. Rekeying sets the existing locks to a new key, and in many cases a home warranty will cover the cost of a home rekey after a purchase.
When you move into a home, when a key goes missing, or when a lock is damaged or will not secure properly. If you are not sure which of those fits, call or text and we will say whether it needs a rekey or new hardware.
It depends on the service, the time of day, the type of lock and how complex the work is, so we do not print a flat price here. You get upfront pricing before any work begins.
